My Body Belongs to God

Paul confronts the Corinthian church’s casual view of sex by rooting sexual ethics in the gospel, the resurrection, and the believer’s union with Christ. Because our bodies and souls are one, what we do sexually is never “just physical”; it either glorifies God or enslaves us. Having been bought with a price and indwelt by the Spirit, believers must run from sexual sin and pursue a purity that displays the love of Jesus to the world.
